Hi. I'm Dan Williamson. I am of Canadian nationality and my mother tongue is English. I am a competent Systems Administrator with 10 years of experience in complex computing environments. My professional experience includes:

Information System Management which involved all aspects of Information Technology, Data Management and much of the Management of the Communications infrastructure for 5 sites. Additionally I was in charge of the Year 2000 Project for our Unit and handled the procurement and disposal of systems or peripherals. I planned and Implemented the installation of Local Area Networks to replace VAX minicomputers and Terminals at the 5 sites. I defined topology, technology, and operational support for LAN and links to Wide Area Network. I introduced a Linux System and integrated it into a 5 Server NT 4.0 environment.

Systems/Network Consultant for a number of Businesses which included a variety of Operating Systems, Network Protocols, and Hardware/Software combinations. Designed and Implemented the operation of Local Area Networks with NT office Services and Linux Web/email/shared facility Services at a number of different establishments. Also, I was the network Administrator on an ongoing basis under contract at 2 sites.

My Web/Internet involvement consists of 2 major Internet WWW projects which included Specification, Design, and Implementation/Coding. I have been involved in one way or another with the Internet since 1989 as a UUCP site.

Systems Programmer - Programmed in a variety of Languages including Assembler, Pascal, Visual Basic, and C on small scale projects. Included the coding of a credit Transfer system to move Credit Card Sales data from our site to the Banks as needed electronically. All processes and structures were coded from Bank Specifications.

Database Experience includes work with Paradox, Access, and Oracle using SQL tools and forms. My database experience is not extensive but I have a reasonable understanding of the basics. 

I have a degree from Concordia University in Montreal Canada. My curriculum contained computing courses including VAX Assembler, Pascal/Discrete Structures, Fortran 77 and I have taken additional training as follows:

As for my Communication in various Languages I have excellent English communication skills. I have a reasonable level of conversational French (Good Reading Comprehension), but I am currently learning Spanish and am weak in my vocabulary (Fair Reading Comprehension).
